The puppies are beautiful! They had their first Dr. appointment this
morning at 8, and both checked out just fine :) The puppies are
*very* friendly - I had a BBQ yesterday with a few friends over,
and Chinook made a wonderful impression. Thanks again for helping
us adopt these guys - they each have a wonderful (and spoiled)
doggie life to look forward to!

Here's a quick puppie update. As of this am Chinook weighs 23 lbs &
Nanuq
is 30.5 lbs. They are growing so fast!! They are still as sweet &
loving
as always. They love their hugs & loves...still not to big for lap
sitting
(especially Chinook). We got to puppy sit Chinook last night so Sean
could
go out. It's great that we live so close together so that neither of
the
pups need be alone. They have seen each other everyday & continue to
have
that close bond with each other. They are both comfortable with Nikki.
Nikki is good with them but looks a bit confused when they want to jump
&
nip at her as they do with each other. Still to early to leave them
unsupervised. Chinook has one ear that is up most of the time. She
looks
so cute.

I think they're getting used to their schedule now. On nice weekdays,
Nanuq get's to come over to my house and play with Chinook while
everyone's at work; and on the weekends Chinook gets to have a sleep-over
with her brother. They are the happiest puppies I've ever met!

Day by day they become more accustomed to us and
establish their routines. I usually get up at 5 am, and let
them out side for a "break". After some good pets, they ruff
and tumble for a half hour or so just to work up an appetite.
Seems like both of them are at our house at nite most of the time.
We should have some good weather this saturday. We will introduce
them to a Kiddie Pool for their first official bath. I'm sure it will be
a short one. Supposed to be in the 70's.

Puppy school starts tomorrow night. I'm guessing that they will be the smartest, cutest &
largest in their class. Not sure how they'll take to school
though....

Both pups are getting accustomed to the water more and more.
In the beginning, Chinook wouldn't even come within 20' of the
pool when I'm in it. Nanuq is no prob. He likes to put his front
paws in on the first step and just stand there. On the other
hand, Chinook loves to stand in the kiddy pool. She saw me in
the pool this week-end and came over to visit. Little by little I
think both will enjoy. ( Nikki sure does. She was swimming the whole week-end.)!

Well yesterday ( the 29th) was significant for Comfort. She not
only turned 6 months old, but was scheduled to the Vet for her proceedure.
Go figure. The 29th of the month, something always happens to her.
I'll recap:
She was conceived on November 29th...
Born on January 29th...
Picked up by her new family (pack) on March 29th..
And went to the Vet on July 29th..
She is fine and healthy,
and loves playing " Ruff & Tumble" with her brother at least 4-5 days a week.
She is a little fearfull ( just like Nikki was) and as a result, doesn't particularly
like strangers around her pack. She's a very lovey dovey girl and constantly
wants pets and attention of which we give to her every time she ask's.

The love & care you gave these little guys before they were
adopted was so apparent once we had them. It has been quite
an eventful year with Chinook & Nanuq. Every day that goes by
they creep into our hearts a little more. They are truly special
animals. Our backyard isn't quite as nice as it once was
(they like to dig) & our window screens don't look so good---
but we wouldn't trade them for the world. We have a jillion stories...
we'll have to gather our thoughts & write some down for you.....
Chinook on the other hand is much more fearful of strangers.
She's just a little more cautious in new situations. Although
she has had all the same experiences as Nanuq her personality
is much different. With her friends & family she is quite the little
"love bug" constantly demanding & getting attention.
She is a
beauty and although she is the smallest of our little pack she is
definately the quickest & sometimes I think the smartest. She
likes to be up high looking down. In the backyard her favorite
spot is on top of the picnic table. The other two know to not
bother Chinook if she's enjoying one of her favorite bones...
she's quick to vocalize her displeasure if they even hint at stealing
her prize.
They spend large parts of each day playing with each other.
They speak the same language of play. They love to mouth each other
& nibble on back legs but all in fun. They are great pals.
