Just wanted to write and tell you how delightful the puppy is. He has honestly
made my day to day life happier and better. He is doing pretty well with paper
training.. a few hiccups here and there.. but they were probably my fault.
He is SO well behaved.. especially for a pup. I named him Soloman by-the-way.
We are going to the vet tomorrow afternoon.
I took him to see a standard poodle puppy that a close family friend has, she is
11 weeks old, they wrestled for a good hour or so. It really did him some good I
think, to play with a dog of similar age. He is pretty timid around older dogs he
has been introduced to. They had a real time. I think they will grow to be good
buddies.
The cat still frightens him, but has warmed up considerably. They even play
with the same string together some.. he pulls it and she chases.
Soloman has had his second round of shots, and is going
in for his 3rd round next Friday. He is great. We have been doing 6 mile+ hikes
almost every other day(over pretty strenuous landscape). He is hard to keep up with.. lol.. He is doing great though. House training is going pretty well.. usually my fault if there is a mess.. Soloman can sit, lay, shake and speak on command very well.. stay will come later when he settles down a bit. I don't know his exact weight as of now.. but he is pretty dang heavy, I can tell ya that much. He has done so well sticking with his chew toys for teething.. they litter the floor, but it keeps the furniture safe(for now).. lol. That "bitter end" spray, to keep animals from chewing, has been a great help too. Just in case anyone is having problems with chewing..(they sell it at petco)
Soloman is great. So well behaved!! The vet had really great
things to say about him, both physically and mentally. I am attaching some pictures
of soloman and leo, his black lab puppy friend, they will give you an idea of his size
etc. Such a great dog.. I hope all the others are as good as he is. He loves to fetch
the baseball. Something about the texture I guess..

Hey guys,
Just wanted to check in with you guys and make sure everything is good with you.
Also wanted to let you know how good Soloman is doing. I weighed him Monday
at 55+ lbs. He is gonna be a big boy. He is working on 'stay' now.. very well I might
add. I am considering obedience school. He is not disobedient or anything.. I just
thought it might be fun for the two of us.
He and the cat are getting on great. They play all the time.
Soloman is great. 70+lbs last night.

I just want to let you know what an incredible gift I have been given by finding
a dog like Soloman. He is one of the most gentle and sensitive dogs I have ever
known. For being a dog of his size his disposition is almost comical. He is a true
gentle giant. Not to say he is any less intelligent for it!! He has been the perfect
companion for anything from lounging around the house to biking in the Smoky
Mountains. I am lucky to have him.
I just wanted to thank you again.

Happy Birthday! That was the first thing I said to Soloman this morning!
He came in to see me when I woke this morning and give me birthday
kisses (he can see me from his bed when I wake).
